<aside> 🏁 In a three part series I want to share with you some of my learnings from my sightseeing, investments and creations in the metaverse and web3. I hope that these insights can provide you some inspiration and hopefully help you avoid the mistakes I made.

TLDR: We launched our first collection of 40 NFTs! The final product was nothing like our initial vision. Developers charging outrageous prices for a small project, moving from blockchain to blockchain to find a good provider and lastly dealing with a sudden downturn in the crypto market made the process a lot more difficult. Nevertheless we are live!

Building our first NFT

We decided on making our first project 40 unique handdrawn NFTs out of the most popular character from the LUCKYBOYSUNDAY universe: Nulle! Personally we fell a bit in love and found Nulle to do great in his different scenes. Now all that was left was to launch it as an NFT.

Selecting a blockchain

We looked pretty much at every NFT enabled chain in the space and was all set to launch our collection on Solana. There was just one problem. It was very expensive! A blockchain developer took 8000 USD to create a custom contract for us which is needed to mint the collection. Not having the budget we decided to go elsewhere.

Ohoy! OpenSea!

In the end we chose the most common platform OpenSea as our go to marketplace. Although we are not fans of Ethereum as the carbon footprint is too big we managed to combine an offsetting solution to every purchase to guarantee that every Nulle will have a negative footprint.
